"BEYOND SWEETS Sweets × Art Project" launches at the Omotesando store

Starting September 1st, BEYOND SWEETS Omotesando will launch the "BEYOND SWEETS Sweets × Art Project," allowing guests to enjoy gluten-free sweets while viewing art.

BEYOND SWEETS is embarking on a new chapter, evolving from a place to enjoy sweets into a cultural hub where people can encounter, experience, and purchase art.

■ About the "Sweets × Art Project" Art Gallery

The "Sweets × Art Project" launches this September, opening part of our store as a gallery space for artists, creating a space where guests can enjoy art while savoring gluten-free sweets.

Everyone is welcome to view the art.

Throughout September, we will exhibit works by calligrapher Ryo Uchiyama, who fuses calligraphy with dynamic motion. Pieces that catch your eye can also be purchased on-site. We plan to continue showcasing works by up-and-coming artists in the future.

■ Profile: Calligrapher Ryo Uchiyama

A calligraphy artist born in Fukuoka Prefecture. He began studying calligraphy at age 7 at his parents' suggestion. By age 10, he received the Governor's Award in his home prefecture of Fukuoka. Since then, he has won numerous awards and has been featured in various media outlets, including the Asahi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, and Nishinippon Shimbun.

He won the Grand Prize at the National High School and University Calligraphy Exhibition for three consecutive years starting in his first year of high school.

During his second year of high school, he received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the 48th Calligraphy Exhibition hosted by Daito Bunka University. Currently, as a calligraphy artist, he provides a wide range of services, including design and performance work for both individuals and corporations. He is actively expanding his business, including venturing into fashion design.
